Local Boy Has His Chance – Adelaide Cup Preview & Tips
Can you think of a pacier group than the field in the Adelaide Cup final tonight?
Only two will find it tough. Fire Tyson (4) is outclassed and Peter Rocket will find it hard from out there in the 7 box. Ronan Izmir (2) and Kokoda Spirit (6) may get edged out early while Tomac Bale (1) will be shoving up along the rail just as he did in the heat.
Both Iona Seven (3) and Farmor Las Vegas (5) are flying so it's a toss-up as to which one gets around the corner in good shape. They are the fastest dogs, technically, but are they in the best position?
In any case, local hope Ernie Bung Arrow (8) would be the most consistent fast beginner in the business at the moment and will be flying around the outside free as a bird. Can he lead? Very possibly. If he does, he will take a power of running down as he is the one dog that will not be affected by traffic due to his wide running habit.
It could be one of those rare top events where a local dog triumphs in South Australia. Wide runners seldom succeed at Angle Park but Ernie is pretty adaptable.
