Mackenna leads all the way to win MDC Regional Final at Temora
Victoria-trained greyhound Mackenna strengthened her reputation as a rising star on Monday, taking out the Million Dollar Chase Regional Final at Temora.
Trained at Bagshot by Michelle Carruthers, Mackenna lined up in the 457m final as a +220 race favourite with greyhound betting sites and rewarded backers with an all-the-way win.
Royal Nangar (+500) challenged around the bend but had to settle for second place as Mackenna went on to win by three lengths in 25.41, with Mr Yellowstone (+400) in third.

She will now head to the MDC semi-finals at Wentworth Park on October 6.
“It was a great win,” trainer Carruthers said.
“She began great, which certainly helps.
“Royal Nangar got close on the bend, but Mackenna was strong to the finish once she straightened up.
“It was a great effort.”
In all-in markets, Mackenna is paying +1500 to win the Million Dollar Chase Final on October 13 at Wentworth Park.
Carruthers was confident of her chances in the semi-finals, saying she hoped to let Mackenna be prepared for her next mission.
“We will try to organise a trial at Wentworth Park next week to give her a look at the track,” she said.
