Magri serves another ace in Group 3 Magic Maiden heats
Sydney trainer Jason Magri's outstanding run of form of late continued at Wentworth Park last night, with Zipping Novak the fastest of five qualifying heats in the Group 3 Ladbrokes Magic Maiden Series over 520m.
Starting a $1.35 favourite with online bookmakers and exiting from the inside alley in the opening event, the son of Zulu Zeus and Zipping Meg stepped cleanly and led throughout in an impressive 30.04 display, gapping his rivals by 7.75 lengths. His dam has seemingly added another promising progeny to her already-impressive resume, which includes the likes of Zipping Bram and Zipping Cosmo.
Magri notched up a winning double for the night with Zipping Sapporo saluting in a 5th grade event, clocking a respectable time 30.00 by two lengths.
The win capped off an incredible 24 hours for her trainer, with the greyhound world still abuzz after Zipping Kansas' blistering track record performance at Bulli over the 590m yesterday.
Magri will be looking to take out this series for the first time since 2016, after winning the final with talented performer Wicked Warrior.
Three semi-finals will be run and won next Wednesday night, with the final to be held on Saturday April 9.
