Major Mission On A Major President’s Trophy Mission

Pre post favorite will be out to record another victory when he contests the President's Trophy Final at on Wednesday night.

The classy three year old which is trained by Tony Attard, has already won the 2 and St. Ledger, and is the only chaser in history to do so.

“I've been training greyhounds in excess of 40 years, and he's by far the best I have had in the kennel.” Attard said.

Major Mission is from a very successful litter which includes the well performed chasers, which won The Laurels, and First Commander.

Between the three litter mates they have already won 38 races, for prize earnings in excess of $158,000-.

The son of is a brilliant box dog who has led in most of his seventeen career race starts.

Major Mission will jump from Box 5 in the Super final to be run over 450 metres.

The draw should not affect his chances in the race as he has already notched up three of his ten career wins from the usually horror box draw.

Last week Major Mission blew away his rivals running the fastest first split, and “best of the night” performance to record an impressive four length victory.

“It was his first look at the track last week, so hopefully he will improve even further in the final.”

“Barring any checks in running he should lead and will go well.”

Attard said that he has been spacing Major Mission's races to keep him fresh, with the ultimate aim of keeping him for upcoming Provincial Cups.

The final though may not turn out to be a one act affair, as there are plenty of worthy challengers.

Gypsy Flame chased home Major Mission last week, and is sure to be improved by that run which was his second since overcoming a shoulder injury.

Gypsy Flame has drawn the rails which suits his style of racing.

Joshua Allen has been racing in great heart of late, and also led all of the way to take out his heat to qualify for the final.

Belena Haze is the only bitch to make it through to the final, and has drawn a suitable Box 7.

She has won four of her eight starts at the track and distance, and her three length win last week put's her right into contention.
