Mepunga Nicky And Spring Gun Hold Key To Centrebet Vic Peters Classic Final

The Centrebet Vic Peters Classic final is set to see the battle of sizzling speedsters Spring Gun and Mepunga Nicky, which recorded impressive Semi Final victories at on Saturday night (October 29).

Saturday's (November 5) $75,000 to the winner final will see the Spring Gun and Mepunga Nicky go head to head, with both greyhounds currently undefeated at Wentworth Park.

The dynamic duo have drawn beside each other in box five (Spring Gun) and six (Mepunga Nicky) which has set the scene for one thrilling final.

Spring Gun opened the Centrebet Vic Peters Classic semi finals in fine style posting early sections of 5.30 and 13.65 the quickest of the four semi finals.

The second semi final went to the 2011 and winner Mepunga Nicky which crossed the field from box eight to lead all the way, notching up 5.37, 13.70 sectionals, with an overall time of 29.74.

The final shapes up as an interesting affair with Mr. Clydesdale drawing box one in the final after posting the fastest overall time in the semi finals of 29.61.

Gable Drum saluted in the final semi final finishing 8 ¾ lengths ahead of Cold Fusion which found trouble just after box rise having to work hard to cement his position in the final.

Saturday's final will be supported by the running of the Bondi Rescue Cup with members of the Channel 10 hit show trackside raising money for .
