More group glory for Dailly as Elfen Bale salutes in Bracelet
Victorian trainer Andrea Dailly has a phenomenal strike rate at Wentworth Park in group race finals, with last night's victory in the Group 3 Ladies Bracelet, continuing a sensational run of form in Sydney.
Elfen Bale appeared to be Dailly's best hope and started off the inside alley as $3.80 shared favourite with kennel mate Dyna Nico. The daughter of Kelsos Fusileer and Chloe Allen, who's litter brother is Group 1 winner Fernando Bale, stepped well from box one and took a comfortable lead at the first turn.
Dyna Nico was hot in pursuit and hit the lead approaching the top corner of the home turn and it appeared as if the race was all over, until Elfen Bale made a last ditch effort on the line to score by a neck. Dailly's other finalist Spring Leaf recovered well from a poor getaway, finishing just 1.75 lengths away in third place. The winner recorded a sizzling time of 29.80 on a drenched Wentworth Park surface and clocked a speedy run home of 11.77.
Team Dailly walked away with $34,375 in prize money last night, with Elfen Bale's career statistics now sitting at nine wins from 20 starts and $59,600 in earnings.
