Northfields Unveil Another Handy One In Kingsbrae Sam

Kingsbrae Sam made an auspicious debut at the race track when she won her heat of the Buckingham Chuck Blue Paws maiden series last .

She speared straight to the front from box three, and carved out a very good 27.52 in a two length victory. Following reports of some handy trials, Kingsbrae Sam was always short in the market and didn't let backers down with a faultless display.

She is a daughter of the inaugural NSW Country Challenge winner who travelled all over the state to take that prize. Charlie and Toni Northfield are prolific breeders of racing stock, and they look to have another handy performer in the kennels.

The second heat was taken out by Ashlee Trick who also led all of the way for . Originally drawn as a reserve, she obtained a run from box three and clocked 27.88 in winning by a length.

The Casino Rural Traders Sprint Final was won by the fastest qualifier Pretty Malaika who took over at the first bend and raced clear. She improved on her heat time to run 23 seconds even, and scored by 3 1/4 lengths. She is undefeated at Casino and the $2000 first prize money has taken her career winnings to over $10,000. To top off the day for , her litter sister Golden Earing ran the best time of the day (22.85) to win the final event.

Another winner from the previous meeting, Kooringa Squirt kept the form students happy when she took out the Casino RSM Club Flying. Her near faultless box manners always see in the lead, and she held off by 2 1/4 lengths clocking 22.85 for Mitch Northfield.

Bralyn Sal was another who was never headed when she held her rails position early to run 23.05 for Brad Northfield, whilst Excursus finally broke through for when she came out running to record 23.57.

The Matthew Reid trained looked well placed in a 5th grade but had to hold off a determined challenge from to win the Mc Donald's Pharmacy stake in 27.43, and Chris Schaefer returned to the winners when Beta Pro ran 27.46 in a 3/4 length success.

In the other events went quick for Don Kevill by winning the opening event in 23.23; Deepwater Lass kept her good form in tact by winning the distance race for Neil Jarvis, and Cronkite ran 27.73 for Jan Finneran in all of the way fashion.
