Nothing Humdrum About Multiquip Magic Maiden Winner
Supporting the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg was the final of the Multiquip Magic Maiden series, as it has down since first introduced in 2003.
This year final was taken out in fine style by Humdrum, a son of Bombastic Shiraz ~ Molly's Osit and trained by Jack and Lorraine Roy at Wallandbeen for owner Graham Sheather.
A $6.20 chance he proved too good for Hitman Sandow and the favourite Perfect Fancy he won by two and a quarter lengths in 30.51 after sections of 5.55 and 14.12.
The Red Brindle chaser ran down early leader Kablammo to score racing away.
The June 2008 whelping appears to have a big future in front of him and joins the Jason Mackay trained litter brother Dunno as another young promising pup to keep an eye on in New South Wales over the coming months.
