Miss Elly Mint Aims Up For Her 14th Consecutive Win

Fresh from her Group 2 Gosford Gold Cup victory, Miss Elly Mint will line up tonight to try for her 14th consecutive win.

Miss Elly Mint’s all the way win in last Tuesday’s $25,000 to the winner final was her 13th victory in a row and took her record to an impressive 35 wins from 55 starts, with a further 11 placings.

Trainer Robert Smith was down playing the importance of tonight’s race after the Gold Cup win saying “Monday night doesn’t matter…..whether she wins 14 in a row or not…”.

But with connections on a high and the punting public now all behind her, Smith is sure to be feeling some pressure tonight as Miss Elly Mint lines up in Race 8 on tonight’s Wentworth Park card.

Starting from box eight in tonight’s Tedesco Menswear Free For All, Miss Elly Mint is ideally boxed having won 6 of her 9 starts from the punk draw, with a further two placings.

Both Hendrix and Repeated, who finished behind Miss Elly Mint in the 2009 Gosford Gold Cup Final, will start from boxes 1 and 3 respectively and trainer, Richie dean is sure to have both primed to try and stop Miss Elly Mint from putting 14 wins back to back.
