Northern Territory greyhound Diddems made it a clean sweep of wins in the Murray Oakley Speedfest series at Winnellie Park on Friday night.
Sent out a short price favorite by punters, the daughter of Addis Boy gave nothing else a chance after jumping quick from box seven and leading easily throughout. In front of a huge crowd, Diddems won by three lengths from My Valkyrie with Iron Ruby a further three lengths away in third place.
All honors must go to trainer Ron Phillips who produced Diddems in brilliant order to win four successive races.
In other races, astute trainer Nick Day took overall training honours by preparing a double when Ironability and Estrella Again saluted in successive races.
Ironability is leading greyhound of the year at Winnellie Park for season 2008 and extended its lead with a solid win.
Estrella Again continues to improve, winning two in five starts.
Peter Donnelley kept his recent good run going when Ray Lean scored a strong win in Race 1.
Settling midfield Ray Lean unleashed a powerful finish late to down All In Cuz with Nova Rose in third place.
Quietly spoken Mick Famiglietti produced Ultra Superb for a strong first up win in Race 4.
Not seen since late August, the son of Untold Story – who weighs close to 40kg – powered away to beat Scar Warrior with Lucky Devil third.
Leading trainer Frank Scott finished on a high when consistent Joe Hammer saluted for a well deserved win in race six. The son of Magnamize began fast to set up a mid-race lead and hold off Havin A Moment with Go Genghis third.
That was Scott’s 54th win this season and has the training title wrapped up as his nearest rival Sandra Bibby is on 29 wins.
