Packham Silk triumphs in Goulburn’s Fireball Final
Packham Silk showed determination despite facing early challenges to secure victory in the Fireball Final at Goulburn on Friday.
Trained by Anthony Azzopardi out of Victoria, she entered the 350m final as the favoured contender, with top online greyhound betting websites offering odds at +125.
Starting from box 6, she initially settled in the third position, trailing behind Clare A Chance (+600) and Armatree Cash (+1000) at the front of the field.
Navigating the first corner, she skillfully passed between Clare A Chance and Best Ever (+380) to secure the second position as she approached the bend.
Entering the straight stretch, she overtook the leader, Best Ever, with a strong finish to secure the victory just before the finish line.
Packham Silk clinched victory, beating Best Ever by a quarter-of-a-length in a race that clocked 19.84 seconds, while Armatree Cash finished in third place.

The win in the $25,000-to-the-winner final marked the fifth start at Goulburn 350m for the chaser, with four wins and a chance to remain undefeated from her time at the New South Wales track.
The daughter of Aston Dee Bee and Nangar Silk has 11 wins and four placings from 16 career starts, having broken her maiden in her debut on May 24, and has banked $47,895 in prize money for connections.
