QGRA Stewards Find Another Two Guilty Of Anabolic Steroids

have today released details regarding another two postitive swabs to anabolic steroids, one involving a high profile trainer and breeder. Remarkably both swabs have tested positive to the same drug, Hydroxyzstanazolo.

Inquiires were held in to both on the 10th october 2008, but Greyhounds Queensland stewards did not release the results until today.

In the first case, stewards convened an on the 10th October 2008 in relation to the urine sample taken from the greyhound which competed on the 12th August 2008 at the Greyhound Racing Club in Race 4 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Hydroxyzstanazolo.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. of Flinders View to appear. Evidence was taken from Mr. Halls.

Stewards charged the trainer under GAR 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug

Mr. Halls pleaded not guilty but was found guilty by the stewards and he was suspended for 6 months and fined $750.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound Four Ex Fever from both his heat win and his susequent run int he final of the same event at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 19th August Race 8 (placed 4th).

Prizemoney had unusually already been paid out to Mr Halls and stewards directed that all prizemoney must be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.

The second inquiry heard realted to a urine sample numbered 265352 taken from the greyhound Lots Of Moolah which competed on the 20th August 2008 at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club in Race 4 (placed 1st) and subsequently returned positive to the drug Hydroxyzstanazolo.

The greyhound is trained by high profile owner, trainer and breeder, , who is the breeder of and the owner and trainer Miss Hot Gossip amongts others.

Stewards directed Trainer Mr. David Robartson of Churchable to appear. Evidence was taken from Mr. Robartson along with written submissions from Dr. Larry Joceumsen. Mr. Robartson was assisted by Mr. G. Hall.

Stewards charged the trainer under GAR 83 (2) (a) (d) which states;
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound
(a) nominated to compete in an event
(d) shall present the greyhound free of any drug

Mr. Robartson reserved his plea. Mr. Robartson was found guilty as charged. Mr. Robartson was suspended for 3 months and fined $2000.

The penalty applied to Mr. Robartson will commence at midnight 10th October 2008.

Stewards disqualified the greyhound Lots Of Moolah from its win at the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club meeting on the 20th August 2008.

The prizemoney, as with the prior case, had already been paid to Mr Robartson and stewards ordered that it be returned to Greyhounds Queensland.
