Quinlan Bale knocks off Zigzag Cabang at Shepparton

Quinlan Bale served up a huge performance to end an opponent's purple patch as he bounced back into the winner's circle at Shepparton on Monday.

The Daniel Gibbons-trained chaser lined up in the 385m free-for-all contest as a $4.40 with top online bookmakers.

Jumping out of the inside box, race favourite Zigzag Cabang ($1.40) was given the gun draw to punch through and on the rails.

The Greg Berry-trained chaser was looking to notch up a sixth straight win before Quinlan Bale stormed over the top to take the spoils.

Quinlan Bale beat home Zigzag Cabang and Soul Taker ($8.50) by three quarters of a length in a time of 21.50.

Trainer Gibbons was happy with the latest win and has his next campaign sorted.

“We are sending him to for the cup heats,” he said.

“It's going to be hard to compete against and , but he (Quinlan Bale) goes good there we have to have a crack.”

The x dog has 29 wins and 26 placings from 72 career starts and has earned $191, 065 in prize money for .
