Rybenbrook To Campaign in Victoria

Classy chaser Rybenbrook () has been transferred to leading Victorian trainer and will reportedly be aimed at the upcoming One to be conducted at during July.

Whelped on Anzac Day 2009 the Jason Fletcher owned chaser commenced racing in Tasmania from the kennel in February this year and created a huge impression, winning all but one of his 12 starts in brilliant fashion while accumulating a purse of in excess of $13,000.

“Rybenbrook is a very smart dog capable of winning from any box,” Stringer revealed this week.

“Jason will prepare him in Melbourne, but he will be returned to my Mangalore complex in the event of him contesting feature races such as the Hobart Thousand in the future.”

The astute Stringer, who quinellaed the 2008 Hobart Thousand with Little Spaniard and Topline Doovee, believes that he has found the ideal replacement for Rybenbrook in Bergermeister ( – She Be Nimble), the winner of four of seven lifetime starts and stakes of in excess of $5,000.

“Bergermeister resumed from injury with a slashing win at Tattersalls Park on May 19 and has since trialled brilliantly at the Tote Racing Centre,” he revealed.

“His times are comparable with Rybenbrook's and I believe that there may not be a great deal separating them ability wise.”

Bergermeister, which was whelped on March 13 2009, will also be given the opportunity to contest the Maturity Stakes Series in Melbourne if things go to plan in coming weeks.

is raced by father and son combination Bob and Michael Clarke, who have established a rearing facility near Runnymede.

“Bob and Michael are valued owners and I have prepared several greyhounds for them over the years including Oxley Fantasy, Black Flame, Cruisin McQueen and Embrocadero,” Stringer explained.

The trainer also holds high hopes for 2011 Maiden Thousand winner Spiritual One ( Run's House – Oodeim Lara), which resumed from injury at the Tote Racing Centre on Tuesday afternoon.

The chaser, which has won six of 12 lifetime and stakes of in excess of $12,000, made up many lengths in the run home to be beaten a whisker by Rattle Gun and will no doubt be improved greatly by the run.

“I liked Spiritual One's run a lot, in fact I thought it was a super effort and I believe that he will be back in the winners circle very shortly,” Stringer declared.

The trainer may also contest the Macro Meats Series at Sandown in June with Sweet Julia ( Brett Lee – Miss Amberbee), the winner of five of 12 lifetime and stakes of in excess of $7,000.

The bitch was far from disgraced at the Tote Racing Centre on Tuesday afternoon when unplaced behind the flying Miss Roman Nose from an unfavourable draw and may be given the opportunity top prove herself in better company.

Stringer, who has only a small team in work and prefers to concentrate on quality rather than quantity, believes that the current crop of greyhounds racing in Tasmania is the best that he has seen during his period of involvement in the sport.

“Greyhounds like Rewind, Miss Roman Nose and the other members of that particular litter are top class and then we have the likes of Damek of course and the wonderful bitch Sultans Swing. I believe that the sport here has gone ahead in leaps and bounds in recent years,” he declared.
