Mr. John Levy outgoing Chairman of Greyhound Racing SA announced at the conclusion of GRSA’s August Board meeting 2 new appointments to Greyhound Racing SA’s Board at Angle Park.
He also congratulated Ms. Roseanne Healy who has been reappointed for a further 3 year term as a director and has also been elected to take on the role of Chairperson effective from 1st October 2009.
Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) has a 5 member board and the 2 new Board Members will join the GRSA Board in October this year after they have received their approval form the Independent Gambling Authority. The appointments satisfy the GRSA Constitution, with the appointment of a person with business experience (Ms Healy), finance experience (David Cross) and lastly legal experience (Michael Fabbro).
Roseanne Healy MAICD, BA Economics, MBA
Roseanne has been re-appointed as a Director of Greyhound Racing and holds the directorship on the basis of her business experience. Roseanne has been on the board since November 2003. Roseanne is an experienced company director and Chair of Government, industry, not for profit and private sector boards in the areas of agribusiness and wine, resources and energy, research and development and general practice.
Roseanne regularly advises Boards and Executive management on strategy, governance, social responsibility and business management and will actively take on the role of Chairperson to the Board in October, outlined above.
Roseanne was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of a large member based organization and recognizes that “…..inherent in any membership based organization is a high degree of participation and passion and the Greyhound Industry is no exception. It is a pleasure to receive the confidence of the member clubs who play a significant role in these appointments.

David Cross BEc, CA, GAICD
David Cross, a chartered accountant joins the Board of Directors on the basis of his financial experience and qualifications. David is currently a board director with the RAA of SA Inc, and is chairman of its Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee. David also works as a management consultant, principally involved with large global clients.
Previously David had a long and successful career with SOLA International Inc and Carl Zeiss Vision AG, which included a period living in the US, where he had a number of executive management roles including Managing Director for Asia Pacific.
In relation to his appointment as a director of GRSA, David stated “….I am very happy to be joining the board of GRSA. I have had a lifelong interest and involvement in racing, and very much look forward to working with the professional team at GRSA and doing what I can to help it achieve its strategic objectives”
Michael Fabbro LLb (Hons) BComm (Acct)
Michael joins the Board of Directors with legal experience and has extensive commercial law practice particularly in the areas of general commercial law and litigation, insolvency, taxation and banking & finance. Michael has participated in the Governor’s Leadership Foundation program (GLF) and is currently a member of the Leaders Institute of South Australia (LISA) as well as being a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a member of the Insolvency Practitioner’s Association of Australia, all of which has given him many benefits including building strategic relationships within organizations and industries.
Michael is the proprietor of Ezra Legal, a successful CBD based legal practice, and has been a participant in other successful businesses.
Michael believes that this “…. new role with Greyhound Racing SA provides the
opportunity to apply all these skills and experience in law, and business generally, to
contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation and member clubs of GRSA”.
