Drawn beautifully in box one, Shima Bar was able to stalk the early leader Clock's Ticking (box six) in the charge towards the first turn.
Despite checking off heels and bumping with Falcon's Fury (box seven) through the catching pen, Shima Bar was able to balance up heading into the back straight before setting off in pursuit of the lamplighter.
Swinging for home, Shima Bar strode up beside Clock's Ticking before bursting clear to score by two lengths in a nippy 29.92.
Clock's Ticking held on for second, with Falcon's Fury filling the trifecta back in third spot.
Trained in Victoria by Andrea Dailly, Shima Bar has now won nine of his 13 starts, with Saturday's victory taking his career earnings to just under the $100,000 mark.
