Smart Comet makes it four wins in a row at The Gardens
Smart Comet took another win at The Gardens on Friday in impressive fashion to make it four victories on the trot.
Trained by Betty Keene, Smart Comet started in the 3/4 mixed grade 400m contest as the -142.86 race favourite on greyhound betting apps.
Jumping from the inside box, he got out to sit second before passing the leader, Prince Wylde (+320), heading around the first turn.
In the straight, both Prince Wylde and Princely Sum (+1300) threw down challenges, gaining ground on the leader.
In the end, Smart Comet beat Prince Wylde by a 0.5 lengths in 22.65.

The winning time improved on his previous best of 22.72, clocked on June 16 when beating home Brandy Beauty by 2.25 lengths.
He has won five of nine starts at the track and trip, while also taking minor placings on a further two occasions.
After debuting at Gosford over the 388m trip, on May 5, and cracking his maiden in that first start by 5.5 lengths he would run all other starts at The Gardens.
He has run exclusively at the 400m journey, outside of two occasions stepping up to the further 515m journey and saluting on both of those occasions.
The son of Flying Ricciardo and Liberty Lee has eight wins and two minor placings from 12 career starts and has earned $13,740 in prizemoney, making him the most successful of his five littermates whelped in 2021.
