South Australian Raider The One To Catch In Super Stayers
The Robert Isaacson trained Satanic Cash stamped himself as the greyhound to beat in the Group 1 Macro Meats Super Stayers final after a sensational 42.43 gallop in the first of the two heats last Saturday night.
The son of former 525-metre Meadows track record holder Big Daddy Cool and Satanic Miss turned the tables on Group 2 Macro Meats Zoom Top winner Drill ‘Em, defeating the three-time Group winner by three lengths.
Satanic Cash seems to have the $50,000-to-the-winner final at his mercy if he can replicate his outstanding heat win. Next Top Model – who won the second heat last Saturday night – ran almost nine lengths slower than Satanic Cash, who has placed in both of his Group race finals to date.
Others who come into contention in Saturday’s final are Jarvis Bale and Dashing Corsair, greyhounds who took out the 2009 National Distance and National Sprint Championships, respectively. Drill ‘Em must also be well regarded considering his great record over the track and distance.
The Meadows – which offers free entry to all patrons this Saturday night – will come alive with guest appearances from Melbourne Victory striker Archie Thompson and Melbourne Vixens star Bianca Chatfield.
The night will also be host to a live band, a $5000 Big Bucks Competition, a celebrity Mower Race, Camp Australia Entertainment for the kids, free showbags and bonus mystery bets.
