Star Recall Sets The Standard With Flying 29.97 Run

Star shone around in the heats of the last night over the 530 metre distance, breaking the 30-second barrier for the first time in her career, clocking a slick 29.97.

The daughter of – No Recall jumped from box eight as odds on favourite paying $1.50 in the second and final heat of the night.

Star Recall received a clear run towards the inside of the track thanks to the early speed of Jump The Queue from box seven. As the field went into the home straight held the lead wearing the blue rug and Star Recall loomed behind him. The pair matched strides a number of times before Star Recall showed her class pulling away to victory. Thunder Rama held on for second as Luba Monelli came home strongly to finish in third position. Jump The Queue managed to cling to fourth place after tiring in the home straight.

Star Recall made her 18th victory her finest, joining an elite club of chasers who have managed to break the 30-second barrier, including holder Miata (29.81).

She had to manoeuvre through the field and chase strongly into fifth place.
