Straight To The Track For Origin Clash At Capalaba

The stage is set for an action-packed day of family fun at Greyhound Racing Club this Saturday for the first ever final of the Series.

Top greyhounds from Queensland and New South Wales have faced off in trials and semi-finals over the past two weeks, but it all culminates with the $10,000 final featuring the top four qualifiers from each state.

Club caretaker Rob Essex and the team at Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club have developed the new race concept to coincide with this year’s Series and there has been strong crowds for the heats and semis.

“This really is a race featuring mate against mate and there has been such a great atmosphere leading up to this Saturday’s final,” Mr. Essex said.

“We’re expecting record crowds this weekend and pre- ticket numbers are very strong.”

“There’s also entertainment, giveaways and fun for all ages, including a Fashions on the Field competition, kids entertainment and appearances from ex-Origin players.”

Queensland’s Coco Benz has fastest for the final, but she will be facing some stiff competition from the southern raiders led by Tweed Ace.

Gates open at 10am at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club, Old Cleveland Rd, Capalaba.
