Strong Demand For Gunnedah Greyhound’s First TAB Meeting
The NSW GBOTA Gunnedah operation has received an outstanding response to its TAB covered Gunnedah Cup meeting this Sunday, June 6, 2010.
A total of 12 races will be staged with full fields and with 90 greyhounds unable to be graded into fields.
Local Director and Acting NSW GBOTA Chairman, Geoff Rose, said the response was extremely pleasing and was confident that the meeting would appeal greatly to both on and off course wagering customers.
“The quality of nominations is great with the feature event, the Chief Havoc GRNSW Challenge (512m) certain to be a real highlight,” added Rose.
Heats of the Challenge went to Tadmore Buckshot, Bellbird Pak and Prince Eragon with Tadmore Buckshot likely to start favourite after drawing box one.
“He looks the one to beat and Simon Ma is sure to have him cherry ripe but anyone of the finalists can win without surprising,” said Rose.
Gunnedah is, to date, the only Club in the North West to have conducted TAB meetings and the NSW GBOTA has been vocal in its view that TAB racing at Gunnedah on a regular basis would be a success.
“GRNSW has attempted to provide more TAB racing in the strong country regions and I would hope that Gunnedah might be considered in this regard in the future,” suggested Rose.
“I am sure the demand from participants is there.”
The first race is set down for 4.51pm and the meeting will be broadcast on Sky Racing Channel 2.
