Taree Greyhound Racing Track nears completion
Excitement is growing as the Taree Greyhound Racing Track nears its completion in Taree, New South Wales.
Industry leaders recently expressed their enthusiasm during a site inspection.
The visit included Adam Casselden, the chairman of Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW), Kevin Gordon, a board member, Rob Macaulay, the CEO, and Alby Taylor, the chief commissioner of the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC).
Also present were the newly appointed directors of the Mid-North Coast Greyhound Racing Club. Despite facing challenges caused by rain and the holiday period, significant progress has been made on track construction.
The track layout has been completed, along with the track kerb and gutter.
Other completed areas include a prefabricated tower, a machine shed, upgrades to the patron area, and a straight slipping track.
Currently, electrical work is underway.
Concrete trucks have been busy pouring concrete at all starting points.
Once finished in March as planned, it is anticipated that the new Mid North Coast club will host race meets each week while transitioning Wauchope and Kempsey tracks into trial tracks.
