Tim Zoo confirmed for TABtouch in $600k Sandgroper slot race
Dual Group 1 winner Tim Zoo has secured a place in the $600,000 Sandgroper (520m) at Cannington on April 24, becoming the latest confirmed contender for Western Australia’s premier greyhound slot race.
The Jason Thompson-trained sprinter will race for slot holder TABtouch, joining Canya All Class (Mintbet) and Miss Envy (Sportsbet) as the first three greyhounds locked in for the lucrative event.
With 22 wins from 48 career starts, Tim Zoo has been in outstanding form throughout 2025.
He claimed the Group 1 Temlee at The Meadows before finishing a narrow second in the Group 1 Australian Cup, reaffirming his status as one of the sport’s top sprinters.

His addition to the Sandgroper field comes as TABtouch looks to land its first victory in the race after finishing third in 2024 with Morton.
The betting giant is banking on Tim Zoo’s elite credentials to deliver success this year.
The son of Aussie Infrared and Double Supreme was originally scheduled to contest last Friday’s Group 2 Horsham Cup but was withdrawn due to injury.
The race was subsequently won by his kennelmate Flying Zulu.
Currently, Miss Envy leads the betting market at $5.00, while the betting sees Tim Zoo move into second favourite at $6 with the top online bookmakers.
Canya All Class and Excavation share the third line of betting at $7.
Excavation is expected to race in the Awesome Lodge slot as anticipation builds for The Sandgroper, which forms part of The Western Trilogy, Australia’s richest racing slot series across thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing.
