Track Record Holder To Dazzle Them Soon

Dazzler with Trainer Helen Ivers and Handler Len WilsonPersistent rain last week in NSW forced the cancellation of both the and meetings and delayed the reappearance of new Maitland holder, .

On April 10th 2008 Dazzler stepped out in a lowly maiden race at his first start. 22.36 seconds later he had not only won his maiden race on debut, he was the new Maitland track record holder.

After beginning cleanly from box four, Dazzler was able to outpace Worthy and Whizzer Watson early on and then bolt away to score a crushing eight length victory.

His time of 22.36 shaved .10 or 1 1/2 lengths from the previous record held by Jomato Pedro, set back in August 2005.

Dazzler is sired by former track star, ; and is out of owner-breeder-trainer ' own bitch Tokay Tears which, in her own right, was more than handy and won 14 races including a solid 30.05 at Sandown.

Dazzler had drawn box 3 in a grade 5 400m race in the washed out Maitland meeting from April 24th and was to be nominated for meeting on May 2, but has not received a run.
