Traralgon greyhound racing meetings cancelled

Traralgon abandoned due to lure issues

Today’s scheduled Traralgon greyhound racing meeting has been called off.

Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) and the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club have had to cancel its race meetings slated for Monday, June 24, 2024 and Wednesday, June 26.

A new meeting at Sale Greyhound Racing Club has been added for Wednesday, June 26 to replace Traralgon.

There will be no replacement for today’s cancelled meeting.

The Monday event was scrapped due to an investigation in to ongoing lure problems at the relatively new track.

Those problems saw Friday’s feature Traralgon race meeting was abandoned after the lure malfunctioned during race seven.

The prize money from today’s canceled races will be divided among the participants at the time of cancellation.

The “new” Traralgon greyhound track was a first of its kind “J-shaped” track that uses a battery driven lure as opposed to the traditional cable style luring driving mechanism.

The latest breakdown comes just one week after the same issue occurred during race nine requiring the rest of the meeting to be abandoned.
