Tribeca dominates GRV Vicbred Maiden Final, eyes Launching Pad
Tribeca stamped himself as a rising star with a brilliant victory in the GRV Vicbred Maiden Series Final at The Meadows on February 22, stopping the clock at 29.96.
Trained by Brooke Ennis, the exciting youngster started as the heavy $1.30 favourite with the top greyhound bookmakers and managed to overcome early pressure before storming clear to claim the $15,000 winner’s prize.
Jumping well but facing early challenges, Tribeca showcased his tenacity by driving hard to the rail and asserting control through the first turn.
Despite a strong late surge from Ethanol Secret, Tribeca held firm to score by a length, with Without A Trace rounding out the placings in third.

Trainer Brooke Ennis praised her charge’s determination, noting how Tribeca refused to be denied when challenged early.
“Did you have any concerns about 50 metres in when he had two others underneath him? Yeah. A little bit, but he just kinda kept hunting that fence. He was lethal to get there. He wasn’t taking any prisoners. That’s for sure,” Ennis said post-race.
She also acknowledged the dedication of owners Harry and Nadine, who raised and prepared the greyhound for success.
“Massive congrats to Harry and Nadine at home. They breed them all themselves and own them; they really deserve to get a nice win,” she added.
Looking ahead, Ennis suggested that Tribeca’s next target would be the upcoming Launching Pad at Sandown Park on Thursday, April 17.
“It’s probably not too far away to start prepping for it (The Launching Pad). It’s definitely on the cards. We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks, but it’s definitely in his next preparation. That’s for sure.”
Tribeca’s victory in the final capped off a dominant campaign, now five starts for three wins and over $25,000 in earnings.
His progression through the ranks suggests he is destined for bigger races in the future, with connections eager to see how far he can rise in the coming months.
