Vale John Stollery
The NSW GBOTA is saddened to advise that legendary bookmaker, John Stollery, has passed away this morning.
At age 79, John Stollery had been battling severe illness in recent months.
Synonymous with racing, the bookmaker had been heavily involved in all facets of the industry for many years.
NSW GBOTA Executive Officer, Brenton Scott, said John Stollery's support for the greyhound industry and the NSW GBOTA was exceptional.
“John was a strong and fearless bookmaker, one of the most respected in Australia.”
“He was also committed to the industries development and was one of the first and most significant bookmaking sponsors.”
“The thoughts of the NSW GBOTA are with his family at this time.”
