Emerging greyhound racing star Voodoo Prince is looking to win five straight this Thursday night at Albion Park after smashing the 30-second mark over 520m last week.
The Rachel Scott-trained performer posted a personal best last week at the Creek of 29.95 from box four, and will line up in the same box this week in the second and third grade Cartwright Property Group 520m (Race 7).
The Wild Voodoo – Lady Grove dog made a statement in Darwin last month beating Group One sprinter and stayer Queen Lauryn in the heats of the Darwin Cup with a record breaking time.
The top dog is sure to come out firing again this Thursday night and will be a very short-priced favourite.
However, he will be hotly pursued by several regular Albion Park performers in Earth Quest (box one), Sangio King (box two), Kallan Bale (box six) and last week's Cougars Cup winner Gelignite Kid.
Another never to leave out of the exotics is Premier Chief who has been performing extremely well, climbing up the grades, and should not be underestimated.
The rest of the card on Thursday night will also see several top performers line up.
Race Five, the fourth and fifth grade Give Me Five at Stud 600m, will see the return of Queen Lauryn's litter mate Sassy Sprite to Albion Park, her first start in Brisbane since May this year.
The James Madigan-trained performer has been racing around the Northern Rivers tracks of Lismore and Casino, and last start won well over 620m at Casino.
Jumping from box three tonight, she will have her work cut out for her with proven distance winner Shadow Boxer in box four, as well as Makushla and Ultra Rumble in boxes five and seven, respectively.
It seems Shadow Boxer will be very suited to this distance after racing in recent weeks over 520m to come home strongly in the late stages of the race.
Makushla has only won twice over the distance, but boasts a blistering best time of 35.07 from late last year and has been racing well over the 520m.
Steve Kavanagh's Ultra Rumble is definitely a threat, who is in form having won his last two over the distance in recent weeks.
In Race Six, the fourth grade Dwyer Lennon 520m, Gary Moore's Rail Rider will jump up a grade after collecting four straight wins at Albion Park.
Jumping from box three, it is going to be a big ask for the Craigie Whistler-dog, who will meet tough competition in Ryan's A Rocket (box six) and proven southern performer Dot Com Diva (box one).
Dot Com Diva has made the trip up from racing around Angle Park and the Meadows for her first start in Brisbane.
The Sergio Livotto-trained bitch boasts a strong racing resume of 15 starts for seven wins, and five placings, and has run solid times in those.
Ryan's A Rocket will need to draw on all his experience in this race after meeting tough competition in the National Sprint heats and final and will be hoping to recapture his blistering form which saw him win the Townsville Cup earlier this month.
