2013 Golden Easter Egg Preludes Kick Off Series

commenced the official countdown to the 2013 , with the first three, of up to nine, 520m preludes being conducted last night.

The opening prelude went the way of Dinkum, which led all the way, jumping from box eight. Avoiding early trouble, Dinkum was able to get a clear break on the field and become the first runner to cement a Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg heat start. Having started in higher grades in recent weeks, the prepared runner beat home in form youngster Carlos Pedro, which is expected to line up in the 3 Macro Meats .

Fellow box eight runner, Princess Black, claimed the second prelude for Central Coast mentor . The fancied runner, utilised the wide alley to perfection leading throughout in the 29.79 victory.

The final prelude for the night went to, My Sweet Love, which continued her strong box one record in the 30.11 win. With an even line at the first turn, it was My Sweet Love which was best positioned on the rails, avoiding other runners and able to run away with victory. As a result, the trained runner has now booked a spot in the series.

Wentworth Park will continue the countdown to the March 16 heats of the $250,000 to the winner, Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg, with up to another three preludes to be drawn next Saturday night, February 23. A final three qualifiers will be held on
Saturday, March 2, before heat nominations close at 12noon on Thursday, March 7.

Trainers looking to secure a run in the Golden Easter Egg are encouraged to use the preludes over the next two weeks to do so.

Interstate runners looking to enter the Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg series are encouraged to contact the Racing team to discuss your current grade at Wentworth Park on a Saturday night, and event conditions.
