AAA Radiator Specialists Bob Payne Winter Stake Final To Did I Entertain
Did I Entertain continued his sparkling form at Wentworth Park to deliver owner trainer Robert Arnold his first metropolitan Group race win in the Group 2 AAA Radiator Specialists Bob Payne Winter Stake at Wentworth Park last Saturday over 520m.
With heaps of talent and many chances this was a race where the start was going to be critical. Did I Entertain while not first out, quickly ran to the lead and from the front he dictated the race to stop the clock in 30.13.
Recent winner of the Group 2 Rapidvite Peter Mosman Classic Tuiaki for Neville Brown got into a good spot from box six and the question was could he catch the leader. Tuiaki ran a mighty race but he really did not ever look like running down Did I Entertain, going under by three quarters of a length.
New Divide trained by Ken Cheetham and handled by owner Michael Hodges finished third a head further back.
In an open betting race the $3.10 favourite Daydream (box 8) could not overcome the wide draw and finished fourth after being never worse than fifth in running. The winner started at $6.00, Tuiaki was at $5.40 and New Divide $11.20.
Robert Arnold has done a great job with Did I Entertain which has now won 17 and placed 13 from 46 appearances at Wentworth Park. Congratulations Robert on Saturday‟s win and a job well done.
A special thanks goes to the sponsors AAA Radiator Specialists who have added this Group 2 event to their Wentworth Park sponsorship commitment which already included the Group 3 Christmas Gift over 520m in December.
