Genuine Thing for Anthony Micallef shortening right up at jump to take of the Ready 4 Plumbing fifth grade over the 530metres. Margaret Bannerman trained Kamaria Bale unable to go with the eventual winner in the straight, holding on for second, Quinlan’s Run coming in third.
Bannerman getting the chocolates in the last with Marley Lane recording his fourth career win in 7 starts, ahead of Trimtex who continued the placings run for the week for the McFarlane kennels, Habmak finishing third.
Londonderry trainer Carolyn Reinke picking up a double for the evening with Ricky lee producing the good in the 25.30 performance over the 440, kennel mate Saltree Kiss spearing the lids in the ninth event to beat home Highland Rain and Shady Gold Lara.
Jason Cameron’s Walkabout Jill producing another fine effort to score her fourth career win in the tenth event over Her Own Class for Brian Smith and Murray Var Flyer for Stephen Wadick.
Heats of the Ranger Geale 0-1 win 530m proving popular with three tough races results seeing Calm Suits Ya, Rocky Crossin’ and Ozi Tonic going through from heat one.
Hot and Spicy, Release and Anna Osti made it to the final from heat two while heat three saw Big Hoser and Rockarena qualify, third Flying Destiny qualifying as first reserve.
Third heat winner Big Hoser the most impressive recording 30.84, 5 ¼ lengths clear of Rockarena. The all important box draw to dictate who will start favourite with $900 up for grabs for the winner.
