Allen Deed The Fastest Qualifier For 2014 Sale Cup

winner has fastest for the One Sale Cup to be run and won on Boxing Day with a superb 37.15 effort tonight over the 650 metre trip.

Starting as the $2.30 favourite from box seven, the son of Jarvis Bale and Greta Bale jumped a little awkward before recovering in the straight to race into third around the first turn. Charging into the back and the Andrea Dailly- trained chaser showed a brilliant burst of acceleration, finding the front and striding to the line two and a half lengths clear of a gallant Agent Jack in second position.

It was just Allen Deed's second start over the track and distance after being run down by Sisco Rage at his last start. The classy campaigner seemed to derive great benefit from that hit out and will definitely be a key player in Friday's $75,000 to the winner final.

Another impressive performance was from WA speedster Star which blitzed her rivals to score by just under six lengths in a hot 37.18. It was her first start at Sale and she was ultra impressive, making it her third win from four starts since stepping up over the middle distance.

Now trained in Victoria by Jeff Britton, Star Recall has now won 24 races with 11 minor placings from 43 starts.

Jeff also won the last heat with Texas Titan too good from box one. A member of the fantastic Vapour Whirl – Foot Luce litter, Texas Titan was having his first go over the testing trip, his only other attempt at a middle distance journey being the 595 at where he won in April.

The striking black dog appeared to get a little tired in the run to the line, although that was to be expected, clocking 37.49.

Jeff's brother qualified a runner for the final with Space Star claiming the opening heat. The son of and Tonto Tears relished the wide draw, giving him room to move, sweeping around the outside to race to the lead on the home turn. Although he got a little weary a few metres before the line, Space Star was able to hold on to defeat Deadly Boy by half a length in 37.34.

Sweet It Is was all the rage in the fourth heat, but she was only able manage second behind the Peter Dapiran- prepared Zipping Felix. As per usual, the daughter of Mogambo and Off Springer dropped back to last early before making her move mid-race. However, 's star stayer found plenty of congestion before powering home to finish under two lengths off the winner that clocked 37.25. All honours were with the winner which put in a gutsy effort himself, flashing home from midfield to score his eight win at start 29.

The remaining heat was taken out by the in form kennel with Kiltah Magic. She bounced straight on the bunny from box two and was never in danger, holding out Zipping Spike by two lengths in a speedy 37.21.

The final of the Group One Sale Cup will be run this Friday evening.
