Aston Ulysses on track to join 100 club
There are not many greyhounds who have careers that crack 100 starts, but Aston Ulysses is on his way to doing exactly that.
In his 93rd start on Monday he hit the lead at Maitland, running on to win by a dominant 7.5 lengths.
With the rail ride through he gave the field something to chase while demolishing them as he extended his lead in the victory.
He was the $1.22 favourite for the 400m race and rewarded backers impressively in a time of 22.27 on debut at the track.
The Aston Dee Bee x Sweet It Is dog has triumphed 35 times with a further 36 placings, collecting $249,400 in prize money along the way.
Trainer Michelle Sultana continues to be impressed by his performances and said her veteran campaigner was not showing any signs of slowing down.
“Frankie is such a great dog not just as a racer,” Sultana said.

She said he will now race at Wentworth Park on Saturday night in what will be his 94th career start with a focus in sight for her kennel star.
“Really, 94th start,” the trainer said surprised.
“He’s going like it’s his 20th.
“His body is in such great shape, so hopefully no slowing down.
“We are hoping to get an invite to the State of Origin and represent NSW.
“We are told he is in the squad.”
Aston Ulysses is currently a $1.75 favourite for Saturday night’s race, where he will face off against kennelmate Connections ($4.60) over the 520m.
