Atlantic Prince Ballarat’s Best Bet Tonight
Atlantic Prince from the Ballarat kennel of Tony Jeffrey will be one for punters to follow in the Laurie Gray Memorial at Ballarat’s Morshead Park on Wednesday night.
Atlantic Prince is a promising stayer who can also mix it with the best in shorter race distances.
The son of Token Prince‘s last two starts have been over 480 metres at Horsham, which have netted him a win and a second placing.
But he will step up to 650 metres for the first time on his home track, although he has already won twice over 600 metres at Geelong.
Atlantic Prince has been a model of consistency over his career amassing 17 wins and 16 minor placing’s from just 44 race starts.
“He’s been a great dog who always gives his best in his races.” Jeffrey said.
“We freshened him up with runs at Horsham, but he is a true stayer and should be suited by the race distance. Hopefully he can lead them out from box 2 and then it’s up to him.” he said.
Hardest to beat will be Western Land from Box 4, and Franklin Darky from Box 6.
Western Land is from the strong Jason Thompson kennel. The son of Big Daddy Cool has been in sensational form with five wins and a second from his past seven starts.
Franklin Darky for Dominic Crisafi has also been racing consistently, before he received a check in running at his last start and finished sixth behind Western Land.
