Technoman On Hume Cup Campaign

Last year's winner Technoman will start his campaign for a second title this Thursday night at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club.

Technoman raced past Queensland champion bitch to claim the $30,000 first place prize last year.

Jumping from box six at Albion Park on Thursday night, the -trained performer will be out to prove a point when it starts in the Brandons Electrical 600m (race three).

However, tough competition is expected from inside Technoman in box three with One Missing showing top form last Thursday night to beat by eight and a quarter lengths.

The 600m race is one of two challenging ‘best eight' races for the night, the other a Garrards 520m in race eight.

Stylish Rover, trained by Gary Holmes, will be a hot contender having finished in the top three from the 520m start in six of its eight starts.

However, it will be up against some classy dogs, including Overflow Breaker who has shown it can bolt in with an impressive time of 30.14 on August 28 at Albion Park.

Super Hornet will be making its return back to the 520m start after running an encouraging third in the 305m Hutchison Lightning Final to .

Strong chances in this race also include Witheren's Girl, which has been unlucky in its last two starts, and Anarchy, who will have its second start since its Lightning Final appearance.

Race One's Rebel Attack Stand Novice 520m race will see the return of promising sprinter Peach Bikini.

After a very unlucky run last week, finishing fifth to Amos Moses, the bitch will be looking to replicate a performance similar to its maiden at Lismore when it clocked in at 30.17 to win by almost eight lengths.

However, the dash for the lead is sure to be contested by Ray Burman's Ace Fantasy, which has won its last two starts over 520m at Albion Park.

Race four will see the return of one of 's kennel stars, , which convincingly won the Lucka Lucka Buck's Bonanza at Albion Park two Thursday's ago.

Unfortunately, Queensland dogs down south have been running into strife recently, and last week was no exception.

The unfortunate injury of Reg Kay's Knocka Norris has ended its Paws of Thunder chances.

However, the Rapidvite National Sprint Champion is expected to quickly, and was named as one of the invitees for the , Top Gun at the Meadows in October.
