AGRA’s Greyhound of the Month for January 2010 is New South Wales owned and Victorian trained sprinter Dyna Lachlan. The outstanding Andrea Dailly trained black dog came close to winning a Group 1 in 2009 but just didn’t make it. However the New Year has started brilliantly for the talented sprinter.
After winning the Interstate Challenge at Angle Park on January 7th in a best of the night 29.50 he was narrowly beaten in his Adelaide Cup semi chasing home local Where’s Diamond in 29.86. Dyna Lachlan made no mistakes in the final jumping straight to the front and making light work of the outstanding field leading all the way to record his first Group 1 success.
For the record Dyna Lachlan beat Strictly Mambo and Mr. Metz third. Time for the final was 29.48 3/100th slower than last year final with sectional splits of 4.37 and a fast 16.73.
Dyna Lachlan has had a short let up and his next assignment is the Group 1 Temlee Invitational at the Meadows on February 13th. “Dyna” has drawn box 5 in the star studded line up and is sure to run a bold race if the Adelaide Cup win is an indication of what the star sprinter is capable of 2010 is looking good.
Dyna Lachlan is a Black Dog whelped July 2007 by Go Wild Teddy from Benden Flex (Ashom Bale x Vista Bale) he is raced by Paul Wheeler and trained by Andrea Dailly at Anakie. Dyna Lachlan has raced 37 times for 22 wins and nine placings and his overall stake earnings stand at $271,555. George Dailly with Dyna Lachlan after the win
January always kicks off the year with a number of group races and it was a very competitive month, it was a difficult decision, however given the quality of the Adelaide Cup final and his lead up win in the Interstate Challenge Dyna Lachlan just got the nod as this month’s Greyhound of the Month. He beat other Group 1 & 2 winners Mantra Lad, Enry Walt, Goodesy, Elite Blue Size, Arvo’s Florence and Forty Twenty.
AGRA congratulates Paul Wheeler, Andrea Dailly & Dyna Lachlan on being awarded the AGRA Greyhound of the Month for January 2010.
