Bella Una captures Country Classic Final in Dubbo
In a show of speed and determination, Bella Una, trained by the duo Jack and Maree Smith, triumphed in the prestigious Ladbrokes Country Classic Final (605m) at Dubbo Greyhound Racing Track on Saturday night, leaving spectators amazed.
Starting flawlessly from box eight, Bella Una took the lead and held onto it throughout the race, clinching the $125,000 prize.
The race saw a twist, as Palawa King, a standout stayer, made a late surge from the back of the pack, narrowly missing first place by two and a half lengths.
This outstanding performance by Palawa King, sired by Feral Franky, brought pride to the Smith family with a well-deserved one-two finish in this premier event.
Taking third place was Might Have Been, who displayed determination and grit during the race.
The winning time clocked in at 34.72 seconds.
