Very even heat to kick off the night and I have decided to go with the early speed of Jack Kade. He has been racing in great style over the 500-metre journey of late and he is much better suited back to this trip where he has won three of four. There is very little speed drawn around him so I'm expecting him to pounce on the lead and he will prove hard to reel in.
Waymore Blues is a classy Victorian speedster and he will be powering to the line in the concluding stages. With the speed drawn in the three he should get a clear passage in the first 50-metres and that will allow him to move into a commanding position as they head into the bend.
Run Velocette is much better than his form reads and he has a great record over this track and trip. He has been powering to the line of late and the long run home should prove favourable for him.
Star Torana and Adam Handler are both more than capable but they are poorly drawn and each will need some luck in running.
Top Four: 3 – 4 – 8 – 6

Really good heat and there are at least three genuine winning hopes. I'm giving the edge to Victorian star Ride The Rails, he has an amazing record on these types of circuits in his home state and he is ideally drawn in the pink. He will be slow to begin but he generally picks up speed extremely well and he will prove extremely hard to hold out in the run to the first bend.
Spacecraft has been placed in three of four here and he is a much better chaser this time around. He has the ability to spear the lids and he really caught the eye when winning at Wentworth Park two runs back in a blistering 29.62.
Fancy Top has the good draw and she can show early speed in her races, she recently broke the 25 second barrier at Maitland and that type of run will see her feature in this event.
Tullabung Honey is an exciting prospect and she must be respected, she won her only try here and she has been reeling off sizzling sectionals in her most recent races.
Top Four: 8 – 6 – 1 – 3

Kayda Shae is an excitement machine and he has won six of his nine starts to date in explosive fashion. He is having his first look at the track but he has recently broken the 25 second barrier at Ballarat and Warrnambool. If he gets away cleanly he should be winning.
Winsome Prince has a great record here having been unbeaten in four tries. His recent form doesn't look great but he is much better than that and if he can trail the two through early he should be able to snag the quinella spot.
My Boy Snoop is well drawn in the pink and he will be steaming to the line, I think he will get too far back to score but he could be a good anchor for third and fourth in your exotics.
Avenging Gun is the interesting runner, he has been flying of late and he is facing his toughest test to date, if he happened to ping and cross he could run a very cheeky race.
Top Four: 2 – 3 – 8 – 7

Rare Pearl is a machine when switched on and from the pink draw he should get every chance to balance up and hit the first turn at full speed. He is extremely strong in the run home and once he gets going he is capable of going with just about any chaser in the land. This is one of the weaker heats and he should get every chance to score.
Rue De Kahn is currently racing in career best form and if she pings the lids she can run a cheeky race. The only concern with her is that she has a flat spot after about 90-metres and she may get crowded in the middle stages. With a clear passage she will be right in the mix.
Winsome Jacko loves racing around this track and trip and he is armed with dazzling mid race speed. He can come out on occasions and if he balances up in the top three early he should be able to make a big impact.
Top Four: 8 – 5 – 4 – 6

Last chance to qualify and this heat appears to be quite open. I'm expecting the red to find the early lead and that should play into the hands of Fantastic Sid. He can be a little unreliable early but he does muster speed extremely well and he is extremely strong in the run to the line. If he balances up within three lengths of the red early he should prove too strong.
Natural Player has a great record here and he will be leading for a long way, he was a slick 26.26 winner here two runs back and a repeat of that will see him finish in the top three.
Winsome Mission is the interesting runner, he is easily the most talented chaser in the race but he can make mistakes early in his races. If he avoids bother and balances up in the top four he should be right there at the business end.
La Grand Logie rounds out the chances, he should be somewhere near the lead early and he might be able to hang on for a place.
Top Four: 2 – 1 – 3 – 8
