Looks to be a match race to kick off the series and it is very hard to split the in form Prescribe ($1.30) and the state's most improved sprinter Knox And Rattles ($6 with Crownbet). I'm giving the edge to Know And Rattles, he has been racing in dazzling form of late and he is armed with a devastating turn of foot. I'm expecting the red to miss away, so if Knox And Rattles can step cleanly he should be able to drive to the early lead and he will be off and gone with the prize.
Prescribe is the most talented chaser in the race but he does miss the kick and from the red he may get shuffled back early on. He will still hit the line very hard and he is a winning chance, however I don't think he will be able to reel the leader in.
El Grand Mocha ($10) is the interesting runner, he comes here with strong WA form and he can show early speed in his races. He will need to be at his best to score but if he does ping away he should give a great sight.
Locknane Bill ($6.50) rounds out the chances, he bounced back to form with a sizzling 25.44 win here last time and he has always done his best racing here.
Top Four: 3 – 1 – 6 – 5

This heat appears to be very open and although I'm putting Miss Stylist ($3.75) on top, it's not with a great deal of confidence. Miss Stylist has won four of six over this journey and she should be suited because there is not a great deal of speed drawn around her. She can hesitate at box rise but she does possess a good turn of foot and that should see her fire through and assume control early and she is a very hard chaser to get past when on the lure.
Hattie Bee ($4.60) is another with a great record here and she does own a scorching 25.25 PB. If she reproduces that type of effort she will be scoring quite easily, however there is a slight concern with the speed drawn on her outside.
Lemon Sunrise ($3.50) must also be respected in this event, she has won six of her past seven and her latest victory was here in a smart 25.64. The box draw is a concern but with some luck in running she can definitely feature.
Lisheen ($4.40) could be the value, he is never far away in these types of races and he will be very strong in the run to the line.
Top Four: 2 – 6 – 4 – 5

Breaker's Tip ($3.25 with Sportsbet) has been a star speedster for quite a while now and he has won six of 12 over this track and trip. His past two runs have been a little disappointing but with two weeks off he should be primed to return to his best. He normally pings the lids so the box draw shouldn't pose too many problems and there doesn't appear to be an abundance of early speed in the race.
Tecoma Emily ($1.90) is an excitement machine and she is drawn to take a power of beating. Last time out she was placed in the Group 1 Hobart Thousand Final and today she returns to a track where she has won three of four.
Hello Ay Jay ($3.50) is well placed in the pink draw and he has won six of nine over this track and trip. He is blessed with smart early speed and if the well fancied runners happen to make any mistakes early, he should be there to capitalise.
Local View ($14) has a chance at odds, he is clearly much better than his form reads and after a few weeks off he should be ready to return to his best.
Top Four: 5 – 8 – 1 – 6

See Blue's Girl ($2.20) was a recent finalist in the Group 1 Hobart Thousand Final and after a disappointing run she will be looking to atone for that effort. From the pink draw she should get plenty of time to balance up and I would expect her take over as they head into the first corner. She has recorded an eye popping 25.14 here previously and if she goes anywhere near that she will take a power of beating.
Repayments ($4) is a classy Victorian chaser and he should race well around this circuit. He will get back in the initial stages but if he can find the rail he should be able to drive through and put himself into contention.
Demi Cali has been sparingly raced of late but she is brilliant when on song and if she is fit she should run a bottler.
Carrick Marlow ($6) probably rounds out the chances, he doesn't win all that often but he does have a big engine and he has always done his best racing around this circuit.
Top Four: 8 – 5 – 6

This is one of the better heats for the day and because of the draw I have gone with the explosive Keune ($1.55 with William Hill). She recently travelled to Melbourne and she didn't have a lot of luck at Sandown, today she returns to a track where she has won four of six and she has gone 25.10 or quicker on two occasions. She will be short but she should be winning from the good draw.
Katey Roman ($3.80) is a litter sister to Keune and she has won eight of 12 overall and she too has a terrific record over this track and trip. The middle pin doesn't help but she is normally quite reliable early so she should be in the mix for most of the journey.
Rory Mac has ($7.50) been a quality chaser for sometime now and he has a scorching 25.25 PB over this trip. If he can begin well he has the speed to go with the two favourites and he probably has the talent to cause an upset, so if you're looking for value he could be the one.
Long View Belle ($5.50) is suited to the wide draw and she will get to the line strongly, so she is a must for your exotic bets.
Top Four: 1 – 5 – 7 – 4

Aces And Angels ($3.30 with Crownbet) is a former Sydney sider and he is an explosive talent when on song. He didn't have a lot of luck in his two Hobart runs, however from the pink draw today he should get plenty of time to get balanced and that should allow him to show his best. With a clear passage he is capable of getting down to the 25.30 mark and that should see him score.
Cash And Go ($6) has plenty of gears and he only needs an ounce of luck to show his best. His box manners aren't great but he does explode soon after and if given room he should put himself in the mix. He has a sizzling 25.33 PB here and a repeat of that effort will see him prove hard to hold out.
Kalispell ($15) is an extremely honest chaser and he should be in the firing line for most of the journey. He isn't as brilliant as some of his rivals but he doesn't make many mistakes in his races.
Droopy's Dasher ($3.50) and Lorus Time ($2.70) must also be respected, both have terrific records here and they are class chasers on their day.
Top Four: 8 – 1 – 5 – 4
1st: $1,585 2nd: $450 3rd: $220.

Elite Enfield ($2.60) is as honest as they come and two starts back he was able to return to the winners list with a commanding 25.95 Hobart win and on that occasion he beat the in form Prescribe. I would prefer him from a wider draw, however he does possess good speed so with an even getaway he should be able to fire through and settle in the top two. He is extremely strong in the run home and this really does look his race.
Bruny Venture ($4.40 with William Hill) is resuming after six months off and before his injury he was one of the state's best chasers. It's hard to get a gauge on how well he is travelling, however for connections to put him in this race first up suggests that he must be trialling the house down.
Reginald Benz ($4.80) set the track alight here four runs back with a breathtaking 25.21 victory here and he only needs a little bit of luck mid race to feature.
Senor Slamma ($5) has been a dominant force in this state for the past 18 months and although he is struggling a little at present, he can't be left out. He is suited to the wide draw and if he happens to come out running he could show up some of his younger opponents.
Top Four: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6
