Albion Park Thursday tips & quaddie | August 24, 2023
Albion Park is set to host an 11-race program on Thursday night from 6:12pm local time. The meeting is headlined by the BGRC Publicans Cup final over the 520m, featuring the likes of Icy Eyes, Boys Light Up and Another Chance.
Race 1: Scarlatti (1)
All eyes will be on Scarlatti after a brilliant debut performance. Bred out of Superior Panama x Sherbini, she backed up her pedigree to win by 10 lengths in 30.16 over course and trip (520m). After beginning sharply, she ducked left and put in a few odd strides before balancing up and being strong throughout. With her being green, one would think there’s plenty of improvement to come. She is drawn superbly in the red with her sister outside her in Saanvi, who has shown a liking to use the track. Expect Scarlatti to kick up, lead and win.

Race 7: Deemed A Liar (7)
This daughter of My Redeemer has found herself in the money in all of her past five starts, including a win and four minor placings. The two-year-old’s most recent run was her best on the clock, recording a 30.05 to show her strength over this track and distance (520m). She maps perfectly with Little Critter inside her looking to crash across the pack and Jewel Bee outside, who is dropping back from 600m runs and shouldn’t be sharp enough to apply pressure. This will allow Deemed A Liar to glide across the pack and find the front, where she will give a great sight.

Race 11: Cincinnati Hope (6)
This daughter of Barcia Bale has returned from a 101-day spell in terrific order, recording one win and one placing from three starts. Admittedly, all these runs have been over the 331m and she will need to transition to the 520m on Thursday night; however, this is by no means a strong event and she has a good map. Mazikeen Smith on her inside has missed the kick in her past four runs, while Call Me Buster has shown that he likes to use the track. This will ensure Cincinnati Hope has enough room to navigate to the lead, and once there, she will prove hard to run down.
