Zammit and Tzouvelis set for Group 1 glory at Albion Park

On Thursday, Albion Park will host a big night of greyhound racing featuring some top-notch competitors.

The finals of the 1 Gold Bullion (520m), and Group 1 Gold Cup (710m) will showcase four runners from both the Zammit kennel and kennel.

As they come back from holidays, he is gearing up to introduce a quartet in the Gold Bullion final. Leading the pack for Zammit kennel is the favorite Jay Is Jay.

With a of 21 victories and earnings amounting to $1.5 million, Jay Is Jay ranks as the highest stakes earner in history.

He secured his spot in the final with a performance on Saturday, clocking an impressive 29.37 in the G2 race.

Joining Jay Is Jay in the Gold Bullion Final are his litter brothers Another Chance and Cluster, both sired by Sennachie and Kealoah.

Completing the Zammit Kennels lineup is , a dog who led throughout to claim victory in a Gold Bullion heat with a time of 29.90.

The box draw for the Gold Bullion has assigned Jay Is Jay to box eight.

Mick Zammit believes this position is advantageous considering the speed and track preferences of the finalists. With the leading bookmakers having Jay Is Jay is currently the favourite to win the Gold Bullion with odds of +150 with the leading greyhound bookmakers.

Bears Bullet follows closely at +360, followed by Morton at +380.

Magistrate and All Natural both have odds set at +650, Another Chance stands at +900, and Cluster stands at +1100.

Saanvi holds odds of $41.

2024 Gold Bullion Final Box Draw and Odds


On another note, Tom Tzouvelis has also enjoyed success qualifying his greyhounds for both the Gold Bullion and Gold Cup finals. Tzouvelis is bringing four runners to compete in the Gold Cup final.

One of them is Sanisha, who caused an upset by defeating the Valpolicella in a heat, finishing with a time of 41.96.

Additionally, Tzouvelis has three greyhounds participating in the Gold Bullion race.

Saanvi will be among them. There are also two reserves, named Scarlatti and Valhalla.

Interestingly, all of the Tzouvelis Group 1 hopefuls come from Sherbini, a brood owned by Sonia and Peter Davis.

The opening bookmaker odds for the Gold Cup race are as follows: Tim Brittons Pearly Tears is leading as the favourite, with odds set at +270.

Scintillate and Valpolicella closely trail behind, with odds of +320 each.

Big Suzie stands at +450, while Drill Sergeant holds odds of +800; Pursurer and Sanisha share odds set at +900; and finally, Sorority sits at odds of +1400.
