Leg 1 – Wentworth Park – Race 9: Exterminator To Place $4.50
Exterminator doesn't have great form but he has turned in some terrific efforts of late and he looks well placed in this event. He goes like a slug early but he will warm up mid race and he will be steaming home at the end. There is quite a bit of early speed in this event so I'm expecting there to be a fair bit of bunching up near the lead and that should work in his favour. I don't think he can win the race but at $4.50 fixed for the place with Bet365 that is ridiculous overs.
Leg 2 – Richmond – Race 6: Barney Girl To Place $2.25
Barney Girl is normally a very reliable beginner and she does her best racing over this track and trip. Her last couple of runs have been a little poor but with a good beginning tonight I'm expecting an improved performance. She meets a good one tonight in Spring Murder but she has the speed to match him early and if she does settle in the top two I can't see her missing a place.
Leg 3 – Cranbourne – Race 10: Mighty Sprite To Win $1.75
Mighty Sprite is an absolute speed demon and he is facing a considerable drop in class tonight. He has won seven of 15 over this journey and he generally hits the ground running so with an even getaway he should be able to account for this steady lineup. He is currently around the $1.75 mark with Bet365 and that appears to be a solid price as I think he may start a tad shorter come race time.
