Greyhound Betting Tips For Tuesday 26th February 2013

A gig congratulations, must go out to the , who miraculously managed to get through the whole Albion Park meeting last night after torrential rain threatened to disrupt the meeting. It was great to see them get through all the races, and give the participants of something to smile about – a big thumbs up!!

Whenever it starts to rain, I think to myself, “maybe tonights a good night to catch up on that movie I've been wanting to see”. I've said this before, but you might as well throw the form guide out the window, when the heavens open up. Time and time again, things do not go to plan when it rains. Maybe its time we started to add wet weather form, to our already poor that we are forced to use.

With only one state (W.A), offering an acceptable form guide for the serious greyhound punter, our options are limited. Wet weather, a Greyhound punter's worst nightmare – or at least it's mine.

Onto today, and lets hope the rain stays away, with Ipswich to conduct their usual Tuesday afternoon meeting. It certainly makes it easier to find a winner on a dry track.

Ipswich Greyhounds, Race 8 Box 5 Rylee's Ebony 5.14 pm Qld time

Its always difficult, to find a winner in a best 8 race. A best 8 race, is for the best 8 greyhounds nominated for the meeting, and with the best 8 Greyhounds all in the one race, there's generally many more winning chances then a normal graded race. However I can't go past the ever consistent Greyhound Rylee's Ebony. He's having his 3rd start back from a spell today, and this should see him perform at his very best. His past two runs in this company have been nothing short of sensational. He looked a good thing beat in both his last two starts, each time running into a dead end at a crucial stage. He has been nosed out both times, and surely today is the day for the son of . He's going to have to once again, do it tough from box 5.

But with ordinary beginners on his inside he may be able to ping out and head the inside 4 dogs early on. There's plenty of speed draw on his outside, so he cant afford to begin to slow either. If he begins to slow, he most certainly will have his work cut out to reel them back in. He's going really well and it wont be long before this fellow wins again. From box 5 make sure you get yourself a good price, don't take the shorts. Will today be the day

Sale Greyhounds, Race 10 Box 1 Salegreys Power 9.50 pm Vic time

, rugs up two runners in this 440m event tonight, and the aptly Named Salegreys Power has come up with the converted rails box. Her only win came from this box at Sandown against very poor opposition where she was able to lead from go to whoa. She's sure to enjoy the red box here again today, and with her best jump, she looks like she will be in this for a long way. Her kennel mate, Lord Saltire, and the B. Harley, trained Good Itch look to be the ones she has to beat to claim the winners cheque. Lord Saltire has already posted a very quick 25.16 here and she may need to go quicker then that here tonight to defeat him. But you often see two kennel mates clash, and the less favored one salute. If she can ping, and hunt up along the rails, she may make it very hard for the outside two, to get around her. I'm not sure she can run 25.16 around here but she may be well over the odds in this event tonight. The value runner.

Gawler Greyhounds, Race 10 Box 8 King Ashy 3.47 pm Vic Time

The class runner here King Ashy, has drawn perfectly out wide in box 8. You cant fault the son on 's form. He's a reliable dog, and since coming across from Victoria, he has won many races, and has always been around the mark. King Ashy, has started here 5 times without winning success here. But from the 5 starts he's had here, he has run 5 placings.
But with the favourable, draw and the step up to the 500 he looks mighty hard to beat. Crumbs looks to be his main danger, he was slow to begin last week and never got into the race after that. He should take great benefit from his first go here last week, and with his best jump, he will be in this for a long way. King Ashy the class runner, with plenty of experience, and this should carry him across the line first here today.

Devonport Greyhounds, Race 9 Box 1 Sandy Pines 3.04 pm Vic time

I'm going to throw a little rough each way chance in here. Sandy Pines, has been well backed early the last couple of starts and her performances haven't been all that bad, after beginning slowly each time. She needs a little room early on, to balance up but she should get it with ordinary beginners around her. From the rails draw here today, against some inexperienced opposition, she looks well placed to run a fantastic race. Shanlyn Johnno, looks the one to beat, and if he can repeat his performance of 3 starts ago here will mighty hard to hold out. Sandy Pines, should be great value and a great each way bet.

Gosford Greyhounds, Race 6 Box 1 Star Sapphire 8.39 pm Nsw time

600m middle distance event here tonight, with plenty of winning chances. Star Sapphire has the speed to jump and run from the get go, and will prove very hard to catch if she can. She's only managed 1 win from 6 starts here, but has run 4 placings. It's a little worrying with a record like that, but im sure she can atone here tonight. She just needs to step away cleanly and find the bunny to salute in this. The main danger, Spring Blueboy, went like a bomb last start at , from box 8. He exploded from the 8 box and took off down the outside stopping the clock in a very fast 29.81. I'm not so sure he will do the same here tonight from an inside box, jumping onto a corner. But if he does ping out he looks a real danger to our top selection Star Sapphire.

Lismore Greyhounds, Race 10 Box 1 Bralyn Bop Bop 9.42 pm Nsw time

Those of you who follow our selections here at Australian Racing Greyhound, will know all to well about . He's been very costly of late, after we selected him a couple of times at Casino, where he was quite disappointing. Here comes back to here tonight and has drawn the rails in this event. He has already posted a quick 24.39 here and with a repeat effort of that performance he will easily win this. I don't think he handled the tight grass circuit at casino, the last two times, and we wont be selecting this fellow again at Casino.

However we will give him one last chance here at his favourite track. Theres very little depth in this race, and the only danger appears to be the Andrew Monaghan trained Float Ya Boat. Float Ya Boat is a quick beginner, but will have his work cut out getting across from out wide. If Bralyn Bop Bop jumps and boots up inside, it should be all over bar the shouting.
Great Bet – Last chance!

Plenty of racing around the country today, and hopefully we have managed to find a couple of winners.

Best of luck
