Greyhound Betting Tips For Wednesday 17th April 2013
Yesterday’s Results: Seize The Bomb – Winner $1.30, Chicka Scott – Winner $2.40, Real Vain – Second, Niamh Premier – Unplaced, Mrs. Thursday – Winner – was a lay bet.
Still on struggle street at the moment, our lay bet for the night Mrs. Thursday got up to win ending any chance we had of winning.
I was a Lismore and to my surprise she showed pretty good box speed to overcome box 8 and managed get across the field rounding the first turn. As soon as she lobbed into second I knew she would win, even though she was spotting the leader ten lengths; such is the bitches strength. She showed much more speed and chase last night then in any other start she’s had before.
Our run of bad luck must end soon, otherwise I’ll be out of a job, and our followers will have no more hard earned to have on.
Albion Park Greyhounds, Race 7 Box 4, Sarah’s Spirit, 5.40pm
Sarah’s Spirit is today’s Albion Park Selection, and the daughter of Premier Chief and Kathy’s Recall looks a terrific chance in this race here today. Box 4 isn’t ideal but she has plenty of talent and does race well here. It’s a pretty handy litter, with littermate Pharmocopia lining up in tomorrow nights Qld Derby heats. Sarah’s Spirit has been touted the best of the litter but is second to brother Pharmocopia in best times around Albion Park. She meets a fair field today, with the Bundaberg performer Jimmy Butterfly sitting up in the 8 box. Little Player from the red box also has to be respected. Sarah’s Spirit has a tendency to mix her box manners a little but she does poses a mix of speed and strength and it won’t be long before we see her produce it. From box 4 today im hoping she can jump away with them and find a nice position on the rail rounding the first turn – maybe 3rd or 4th, if she can do that she should finish far to strong here for these. The middle box makes it tough but she should be a nice each way chance here today.
Angle Park Greyhounds, Race 7 Box 4 Emerley Lover, 3.05pm
A heat of the S.A Breeders prelude here and the recent addition to the Troy Murray kennel, Emerley Lover; is flying at present with 4 wins from his last 5 starts. The son of Nitro Burst looks extremely hard to beat here today. Boxed in the middle of the track around slow beginners he will have no trouble jumping straight to the front. Boxes 2,3,6 are all slow early and none of them can give this bloke a start and beat him. He has a PB of 29.93 here but I think he’s capable of going quicker and today looks his best chance to do so. High speed dog in great form boxed in between slow beginners – its a recipe to sure success. Absolute special and should easily take care if this lot. Even at his short quote of roughly $1.70, I think he’s great value. You often see short priced favourite’s that don’t deserve there low starting price. But this bloke is no false favourite her today and no excuse should be offered up if he gets beat. Will win.
Richmond Greyhounds, Race 4 Box 7 Samadhi Babe 4.37pm
Shockingly bad distance race here and Samadhi Babe, formerly trained by astute mentor Dave Irwin; looks the likely winner for mine. Dave was campaigning her around Grafton a while ago and she did look to have a bit of talent. But time and time again she found a way to get beat as favourite. She has trialled quite well over the shorter trip, and has also a quick 23.17 to her name over the 400 in a performance trial. She only needs to repeat that trial or go somewhen close to be a long way out on front of these today.
618 will be a test for the daughter of Big Daddy Cool, but I expect her to be too good her for these. He last couple over 535 where shes placed here have been fair. She has a tendency to throw away races, but lets hope today her minds on the job and she gets the chocolates here. Boxed well with plenty of early toe, and she should give backers a great sight.
The Meadows Greyhounds Race 10 Box 1 Fire Up Nate, 2.54pm
600m event here and the old boy is my selection from the favorable box 1, although he has never won from box 1; he does like to hunt along the rail or 1 or so off. He is very experienced at the trip and does often perform quite well on a Thursday night. His form has tapered off a little recently, but the drop on grade should see him return to form. He has a pretty good PB and there doesn’t appear to a great deal of completion. Destini Warrior will be the likely favourite here today, but I do give Fire
Up Nate a great chance here. Should be each way odds, and that’s the way id be going.
Ballarat Greyhounds, Race 4 Box 7 Love of Lauryn, 7.58pm
The daughter of champion Queen Lauyrn looks a great value chance here tonight. She has already posted a fast 30.51 win a Cranbourne. Box 7 will make life a little tough here today, but she does have her share of ability. She is quite moody and does need things to go her way, but she going to be great each way odds in this race here tonight. It’s going to be mighty tough for her to get over early, but if she can get a nice drag across expect her to race very well. I suggest only backing her if 12-1 or better as she will need plenty of luck early. Fast dog who will improve sharply from a inside box, she does have box speed and let’s hope she can use it today. It’s certainly a winnable race, and each way here today.
Best of luck
