Greyhound Betting Tips Monday 7th April

Albion Park Greyhounds Race 9 Box 7 Sonnet’s Special, 9.26pm

Sonnet’s Special for Northern Rivers trainer gets a chance here tonight from out wide in box seven. His run on Thursday night from box six was a pretty handy gallop when he took on a much harder fields than he’s tackling tonight. Sonnet’s Special was beaten that night in a moderate 30.34 by two lengths, but that wasn’t a bad effort when you consider it was his first 520 metre race in a while and his first attempt here and . Generally speaking he can show pretty good early toe and has won over the short and long journey at in very fast time.

Matthew Reid had a winner on Thursday night with Miner’s Moss who exited from box one when an all the way winner in fast time. Box six runner Summer’s Bug looks the early leader and if Sonnet’s Special can go with him early, he should be able to outstay him in the run to the line. Both Trident and Vanilla Bliss look hopes but both will need to find there way forward early.

I’d say around about the $5.00 – $6.00 mark will be available for Sonnet’s Special and at that price he looks a really good chance in a race he can win.

Boxes 4,6,7,8 look the main hopes and punters looking to take exotics could try boxing these four runners in a boxed trifecta for $24 for 100%.

Angle Park Greyhounds Race 4 Box 1 Bogie Diamond, 7.37pm

Really nice betting race here, and I reckon overs will be about for Bogie Diamond. Owner Les Bein and trainer have had great success of late with dogs that Les has sent across to be trained. Some have even broken 30.00 at when they only looked like ordinary dogs here in Queensland. Bogie Diamond flew around last start in a 22.68 and she should be off and burning from the get go tonight. She’s capable of running 520 metres although she has only recorded a slow 30.43 here. She looks to be hitting her straps now and if odds of around the $4.00 mark are about I reckon lap them up.

Box one is perfect because she’s got great early burn and should be off and gone in the first two sections of the race. Box five runner Dakota Premier is a very good young dog with four starts for three wins, with two coming in under 30.00 seconds. He’s got good early toe and generally spears out of the back in the leading division. He’s strong and can only get better. The question is though, if Bogie Diamond spears the lids and puts a gap in them will Dakota Premier chase from so far off the bunny, that could be his undoing.

Both dogs look the standouts and punters looking to take exotics should anchor these two in trifectas and first fours.

Sportingbet is offering $100 bonus for a $30 deposit. Nice race to utilise the offer and take some exotics.

Launceston Greyhounds Race 1 Box 1 Gemstone Jack, 7.40pm

Tough 600 metre race here with a small field engaged. Gemstone Jack is a pretty handy chaser who has been racing in great form of late. The inside suits him and two starts back he recorded a solid 26.26 victory at in good fashion. He’s a little one paced, but as long as he doesn’t get buried from the red, he should be able to grind away to a win. He has posted 35.35 here and while it’s not lightning quick, it’s fast enough to win this. He should start around the $3.50 mark and is worth backing.

Painted Dotty is the main danger and she’s quite talented when out on the bunny. She can show early toe and if she happens to cut across early and take up the lead I doubt they will get past her, but Hellyeah Flicka can show speed so she should run cover for Gemstone Jack and in turn hold out Painted Dotty.

Gemstone Jack to win and take a boxed exacta with Painted Dotty in case she crosses.

Shepparton Greyhounds Race 5 Box 8 Missile Flash, 8.30pm

This girl has been going well of late without much luck. She was unlucky in her last two starts at after running a nice race at in a good time of 30.16. She seems to go best from the bookends boxes and she should find herself with plenty of room to let rip around the outside. She’s yet to race here but I have watched her here in Brisbane and she does have great acceleration. She seems to be getting stronger with racing and of she begins nicely tonight she’ll be in this right to the end.

Box one runner Check My Swagger is the main danger. He should relish the red and will take a power of beating from the good draw. He is likely to start favourite but he may be too short to back.

Stick with Missile Flash if $3.00 is about.

Tonight’s best roughie is Albion Park Race 8 Box 5 Bettys Memory.

Best of luck
