Greyhound Racing Tips For Thursday 22nd October 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's Greyhound Racing Tips for Thursday 22nd October 2009 with Tips tonight from Sandown Park (Victoria), Dapto (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland), Angle Park (South Australia) and (West Australia).

With tonights Greyhound Racing coming from Sandown Park (Victoria), Dapto (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland), Angle Park (South Australia) and Mandurah (West Australia), lets just recap our track advice for those tracks.

Sandown Park is considered one of the best two turn tracks in the country and plays reasonably fairly, although there is a slight bias towards railers and greyhounds on the speed.

Dapto is a track greyhounds either handle or they don't. Favouring early speed greyhounds over all distances, it is one of the few tracks in Australian Greyhound Racing where dogs can race extremely wide and still make ground. Look for greyhounds with exposed form on the track.

Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on lure system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them.

Angle Park is all about leading to the first corner, class dogs will knock up winning in South Australia as their is a definite lack of depth, even at higher grades. Again be wary of betting in 600m and 700m events at Angle Park as in many cases it is just the last throw of the dice for and there are very few genuine stayers.

Mandurah can be a punters graveyard, the 492m distance, 647m distance and the 302m distances are corner starts and even the 405m start is only a short run before the corner. Good beginners are decidedly advantaged as are the red boxes over all 3 shorter distances.

Sandown Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 1 – Lily Eve

The Tanya and trained Lily Eve could not have been more impressive on debut leading all the way from box 4 for a 5.24, 30.11 all the way maiden win in the heats here last week. Comes up with the one box this week but didn't need it as she has 5 lengths on the field. In very astute hands and will not waste a prized drawn in a city maiden final.

Sandown Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 8 – Shakey Bake

Shakey Bake is fanother rom the Brett Lee ~ Leprechaun Flee litter who have run through their maidens and low grade wins very quickly. The whole litter looks like they appreciate a wide draw and Shakey Bake has won all his career wins from boxes 6 and 8. Has now started 6 times for 3 wins and 3 placings including 2 30.36 efforts at The Meadows and and a last start 25.80 win at when leading all the way. Harder here but looks well boxed out wide again.

Sandown Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 7 – Flash Of Light

Very tricky race but assuming Flash Of Light hasn't taken any confidence damage from her last start her when she was squeezed up straight after the start and fell heavily. Finished the race but was distanced on that occasion from box 4 and now moves out wide which should help her get the confidence to push forward without dogs pushing in on her from the outside. At her best is as good as any in the country but can go in and out of form. Has a very good wide record and and the track and although a difficult race we should get enough odds to get involved.

Dapto Greyhounds – Race 10 – Box 1 – Go Electrical

Long wait for the last and Go Electrical hardly has the kind of career record that would make you jump in with both feet, having won just 8 of 82 starts with a furthe 31 placings. Returned to form last start from box 4 with a 30.36 win here leading all the way to win by 3 lengths. Surprisingly has a very good Dapto record of 3 starts for a win and a third, which makes you wonder what the trainer was doing with the dog for the other 79 starts! Has won 3 and ran 3 placings from 11 starts off box 1 so box should be considered an advantage.

Albion Park Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 1 – Black Peregrine

Impeccably bred Black Peregrine is by Black Enforcer ~ and has won 8 of his 30 starts so far, 29 of which have been over the Albion Park 520m. Has run a further 10 placings from those starts and has a PB of 30.36 on the track. Isn't going to break the track record anytime soon but off box 1 should be able to steal this race. Won here 2 starts back from box 6 in 30.54 and can use box 1 to advantage.
