I think we can find some value in this event with the Brian Kutner trained Bogie Ruler. He has been sparingly raced to date and he returned from a six week layoff to be placed here on Tuesday. On that occasion he didn’t seem too comfortable with dogs on his outside, but tonight from the middle he should get some more galloping room and I think he can get the job done at good odds. You Ess Marshall is likely to start favourite and based on his two recent wins here he appears to be the main danger. He should settle on the speed but I don’t think he can go with Bogie ruler mid race. Get Around Him is the only other winning hope, he has the class edge but I would prefer him drawn closer to the fence.
PLEASE NOTE BOGIE RULER SCRATCHED.

Appears to be only two genuine winning chances in this event but I’m very keen on the surprisingly well drawn Spirit To Excel. With the speedy Alan’s Kidz drawn directly underneath he should get a perfect cart across as they head into the first bend and I would then expect him to put a space in them off the back straight. Alan’s Kidz has won two races here of late and on both occasions he has shown blistering early speed. He should lead again tonight and he should have enough in the tank to hold on for the quinella spot. Ray Man and Showroom look to be the best of the rest. I don’t think they are good enough to win but they can run into a place.
