Greyhound Tips For Sunday 24th March 2013
Yesterday’s Results : Raucous – Second, Flip Bale- Winner $3.00, Punch One Out- Winner $4.00.
Fantastic night of racing last night, and the semi finals of the 2013 Golden Easter Egg sure didn’t disappoint. Mixed results with the Egg favourite, Jagger Swagger missing out on a final berth. It was a night of upsets with only a couple of the favourites making it through to next weeks $250,000 to the winner final.
Punch One Out, was simply breathtaking, scorching around the circuit, to SMASH the old track record. The Daughter of Knocka Norris, stopped the clock at 29.27, something trainer Jason McKay had predicted last week. She has come up with box 3 in next weeks final, so it’s sure to make it quite interesting, as she prefers it out wide. Bring on Saturday night!
Albion Park Greyhounds, Race 5 Box 7, Seven Straight, 6.20 pm Qld Time
A 600m event with Seven Straight to start odds on. There’s no value there so we will endeavor to pick the exacta. Seven Straight posted a flying 34.88 last start, and if he begins quickly again expect him to go quick again. Sometimes the first run a dog puts in over the 600 is their quickest. As they are tricked into not knowing where the catching pen is. Sometimes Miss Karoo is a very fast dog, the daughter of Where’s Pedro and Miss Tickles has been stepped up in distance here. Generally a moderate beginner, she has been getting back and buried in her last few, and the rise in distance will suit. She has a huge motor, but doesn’t really use it till she finds the rail. She only needs a clean getaway to find it, and power into second in this. It looks a great Exacta race, and maybe even a Trifecta, or First 4.
Sandown Greyhounds, Race 9 Box 7 Agent Ace, 4.51 pm Vic time
715 staying event here, and Agent Ace looks a good thing in this. The son of champion Stayer, Miagi, has been going really well since stepping up in distance. The longest staying trip will test him, but he has good overall pace and chasers hard. As long as he navigates cleanly around the first turn, he should have way too much speed for these. Amity Flame can threaten here but is far too moody to select.
Gawler Greyhounds Race 8 Box 2 Road Warrior, 8.23pm Vic Time.
The traveling road warrior should easily take care of these here today. Norm Bradford, his trainer loves to travel and the Helensvale in Qld trainer is always off and about racing his dogs. The young by very classy Road Warrior should have no trouble first up on the track here. He went terrific last start at Angle Park, running second and he only needs to safely navigate his way throughout to beat these.I’m hoping he’s not silly odds, and is about $2.50. He should possie up in the first 4 or so dogs early, and be far to strong and classy here for these. It’s always a risk backing young dogs on new tracks, but this bloke is worth the risk.
Bendigo Greyhounds Race 2 Box 1 Velomagic, 6.14 pm Vic time
Velomagic may be silly odd ls here against a classy runner in box 1 Batman. The caped crusader returns from a spell and may need a run or two to find his best. He is highly talented with plenty of speed, but Velomagic is in form and beat a classy runner of Jason Thompson’s 2 starts ago. He will enjoy the outside box and if he can jump and repeat his Horsham effort he will take some beating. I watched the replays a few more times than usual with this bloke and he may develop into a really good dog. May be goods odds here today.
A few shortys here today, but I’m quite confident all will go very close to winning. It may pay too take them all in a multi bet, With one of our Sponsors, Sportsbet, Sportingbet, Luxbet And Iasbet.
Best Of Luck
