Ladies’ Bracelet Final preview with runner-by-runner form

HERE it is – the full field for this year's – and it's a corker.

Our main man, the ‘greyhound whisperer' Brad Bugeja has taken a look at the runners assembled and provided notes, detailing where the smart money will flow on Saturday night.

Elfen Bale Fast/Middle/Strong

Made her debut last week and she was highly impressive when scoring in 29.90, she was able to win coming from off the speed, which is against her normal race pattern and that makes the win even more impressive. She has the early speed to match most of these runners and from the red draw she must be considered as one of the serious contenders. If she finds the top early I think she can get down to the 29.70 mark.

Uno Suzie Fast/Middle/Strong

She is armed with solid early speed and at present she is racing in career best form. She is showing a lot more early dash than normal and her overall times have been ultra impressive. If she pinged the lids she is more than capable of winning a race but I am a little concerned with the amount of speed which is drawn around her. Place claims appear to be best tonight.

Spring Leaf Good/Middle/Very Strong

Was a tad disappointing in her heat, but she is much better than that and she does love racing around this circuit. Two starts back she beat a top class field at and she showed great pace on that occasion. If she can get down to somewhere near her 29.50 PB here she will be right in the finish, she will just need some luck early as Dyna Nico will come across and crowd her in the initial stages.

Dyna Nico Brilliant/Middle/Average

Has really gone to a new level in recent months and she appears to be running the 500m trip out a lot stronger. She has been placed in eight of nine here with three wins and she does own a 29.55 PB. She needs to lead to win her races but she is pretty much faultless early and I'm expecting her to pounce on the early lead tonight, this race isn't overly strong so if she finds the she should be winning.

Queen Esther Fast/Middle/Average

She has been a great chaser for quite some time now and she should be in contention for a long way. Last week she led them up before getting reeled in close to the line, she will need to lead to win tonight and with the amount of speed drawn underneath I can't see her getting across. Great effort to qualify but I can't see her making an impact.

Can Queen Esther win? Back her with William Hill

Good/Wide/Very strong

Class act who has a top record here and unlike most of her opponents she is strong in the run to the line. Last week she was polaxed early but she managed to pick herself up and hit the line strongly to score in a steady 30.43. The time was ordinary but the manner in which she won was very impressive and tonight she exits a more favourable draw. I'm expecting her to settle in the first four and with her strength she should be right there at the business end.

Pearl Blonde Fast/Middle/Weak

Reliable beginner and she will be humming for the first 400m of the race, however she does fall in a hole late and she won't be able to hold them out. She had every chance to score in her heat and she was run down in very slow time, solid effort to qualify but no chance in this.

Star Torana Average/Middle to Wide/Strong

Extremely honest and reliable chaser who has a tremendous record over this trip. She has the ability to lead or come from off the speed in her races and she is blessed with amazing track sense. From the wide draw she should be able to carve across early and settle into a fairly prominent spot at the first bend and with her strength she should be there at the end. My only concern is that there is a fair bit of speed on the inside so she may get posted wide if there is a line of four or five at the first bend.

Reserves:

Rue De Kahn Fast/Rail/Strong

Class act and if she gained a start she would be one of the favourites. She has been flying in recent weeks and she loves racing around this circuit. She is fast early and she has strength, so if she gains a start she is a top three chance.

Senorita Selena Good/Middle/Average

She has a solid record here and when she lands on the bunny she can reel off great sectionals, however she has poor box manners and she tends to find a lot of bother. Likely to find the going tough if she gains a start.

Top Four: 4 – 6 – 3 – 1
