Free tips, exotics and more for Albion Park Greyhounds, April 30

TEN races will be run and won at Albion Park tonight, with the main race being the eighth event on the card which will see the debut of recent winner Spacecraft at the Brisbane-based track.

The son of Brett Lee and Cristalle is up against a tough field including dual Group winner Iva Vision and Late Angel Lee, which holds the track record at Albion Park.

Before we get to that event there is still plenty of quality racing in the Sunshine State, so lets check out our preview courtesy of Brad Bugeja, Australian Racing Greyhound’s expert form analyst.

If you think Brad might be on the money, open an account with William Hill for up to $700 in bets to place on his selections.

Open race to kick off the night but Cheeky Chance is drawn to get all the breaks and she comes here after scoring here on Monday in convincing fashion. She is normally a solid beginner and from the red draw she should be able to poke through early and hold them out, this race isn’t overly strong so she should prove too good in the run home.

Tuff It looms as the obvious danger, he is a member of the powerful Tony Brett kennel and he looked super impressive when posting a slick 30.68 Ipswich win two runs back. On that occasion he showed a lot of early speed and if he can reproduce those type of sectionals he could get across. He is still learning the caper but he appears to be a very promising type. Flaunt It is a run on type and she shouldn’t be too far away at the end, she is better suited to a wider draw but if she can avoid early bother she should be in the finish. In The Picture rounds out the chances, he too will get back early but if the gaps open mid race he can make an impact.

Butchulla Boy showed devastating early speed when placed here last week and with that run under his belt he should be able to hit the line a lot better tonight and he should be winning. Tonight’s race is a lot easier than last weeks and it’s hard to ignore his debut winning effort at Ipswich when he posted a ridiculous 24.89.

By The Gallon is the interesting runner, she was never out of trouble here last week and she never got a chance to get balanced up. Prior to that effort she scored in her debut run at Ipswich in a slick 30.68 and if she reproduces that type of effort she will be right in the mix. Pacific Champ has been a little disappointing of late but he is suited to the wider draw and this is one of the easiest races he has contested for a while. Spring Dream is probably the only other winning prospect, she will settle in the top two early and if she happens to take over mid race she could take some catching.

Whirly Way showed enormous potential early in her career but she appeared to lose her way for a period of time, however last week she bounced back to her best at Ipswich with a devastating 24.81 win. On that occasion she speared the lids and never looked back, from the red she should pounce on the early lead again and she should prove very hard to reel in.

General Cloud should be suited to the wide draw and he turned in a strong effort when placed here last week in fast time, he should get a nice cart across from the seven early and if the red struggles in the final 40m he should be there to capitalise. Abby’s Magic has a heap of talent but she can be very hit or miss early, if she gets away she can definitely feature but from the middle pin she is going to need a lot of things to go her way. Boss Number Four must be included in your exotics, he is much better than his recent form reads and he should run a solid race.

Frosty Jay Jay has been a great sprinter for quite a while now and after a long stretch without a win he managed to return to form with a sizzling 30.46 Ipswich win. Tonight he finds himself in a very weak race and with very little speed around him, he should be able to roll to the early lead and from there on it should be a procession.

Surfin’ Sue should settle in the top two early and she will give a great sight, last week she led for a long way before being narrowly beaten in very fast time, if she turns in a similar effort tonight she will make an impact. Femme Jolie is a bit of a battler but she has come up with the good draw and if she can settle near the pace she should sneak into the placings. Cute To Boot could be the value, she will get back early but she does have a big finish and she should appreciate the drop in class tonight.

Dynamite Speed has been racing in great form in recent weeks and she should atone for her luckless effort here last week. She has very little speed drawn around her in this event so if she can step on terms she should be able to through into a prominent spot at the first bend. She really looks well graded in this and if you can land $3 that appears to be great value.

Titan Ash has come up with the good draw and if she steps well enough she could have the speed to hold them out. She has won here previously in a zippy 30.06 and that type of run would see her go very close to winning. Pictures Pearce is a bit slow to begin but he does have tremendous mid race speed and if the gaps open at the right time he could play a big part. He will need some luck in running but if he goes around at silly odds he could be worth a bet. Love Kills resumed from a spell with a strong placing here last week and he is a must for the exotics again.

Bago Kysam is normally a very reliable beginner and he was a recent winner here in a slick 29.95, he has a little bit of speed drawn on his outside but if he steps on terms he should have sufficient speed to hold them out at the first turn. The red is expected to be fairly short so you might get around the $3 to $3.50 mark.

Elusive Desire turned in a monster effort when placed behind Dyna Villa here two runs back and if he avoids trouble tonight he will take a power of beating. He doesn’t like to be crowded in his races so he is much better suited to a wider draw but he is too good to dismiss. Marlisa has the speed to match Bago Kysam in the early stages and she should run a cheeky race, she has won four of 14 here and she could be over the odds in this race. Visualize It can be hard to follow at times but there is no doubting her talent, she will get back early on but she will hit the line well and she could sneak into third spot.

Spring Bonanza is currently racing very well and she should be leading for a long way. Last time out she speared to the early lead when scoring a slick 30.02 win here and the manner in which she hit the line would suggest that she will handle the extra distance tonight. This race isn’t overly strong so she should prove very hard to reel in.

Mister To Us is resuming after five weeks off and being fresh he should show a little more early zip than normal. He hasn’t had a lot of luck in his previous tries over this journey but this is a big drop in class for him so he should prove hard to hold out. Sandave Sapphire hit the line well when placed here last week and she should be in the mix again, the rails draw will suit and if she can balance up mid field she will make her presence felt. Knave must be included in your quaddies, he is poorly drawn out wide but he does have a great record over this trip and he could be over the odds.

Spacecraft is making his Albion Park debut but he is currently racing in rare form and he should be leading all the way. Last time out he captured the Group Two Maitland Cup final and prior to that series he had scored some Wentworth Park wins in March. There isn’t a lot of early speed in this event so if he steps on terms he should assume control and that should be the end of the section.

Late Angel Lee is the current track record holder here and he has won two of his five starts from a spell. He is perfectly placed in the pink draw tonight and that should allow him to settle a lot closer to the speed than normal, I dont think he can reel Spacecraft in but he should give him a scare. Iva Vision can be hard to follow but he has a massive engine and if given a clear run he could actually roll the favourite, the big concern though is the box draw. Fabulous Storm rounds out the serious chances, three starts back he destroyed the classy Opus Forte when winning here in 29.80 and with a clear passage early he could make an impact.

Lady Abigail has come up with the good draw and she really powered to the line when winning here last week in 30.08. From the rails draw she should be able to settle in the top two early and she also has the benefit of a wide runner drawn directly on her outside.

Victory Prince has a very big engine and he is a real danger in this event, last week he looked ultra impressive when posting a strong 30.14 win here. My only concern with him is that he appears to have lost a bit of his early zip. Killara is the run on type in the event, she will probably get too far back to score but she does have good track sense and she could be a good anchor for third and fourth in your exotics. This Time Reba is the only other winning hope, she has a good record here but she has been getting a long way back in her races, if she can step a little better tonight she could run a big race at each way odds.

Cyndie’s Magic can bomb the start at times but from the red she should step a little better and if she does she will have more than enough speed to hold them out early. She is capable of reeling off blistering sectionals when given a clear run and there should be no excuses for her tonight.

Breathing Fire is another with poor box manners but he too possesses brilliant mid race speed, he will be looking to get wide early but he has a wide runner on his outside so he shouldn’t lose too much ground in the run to the first turn. Bon Yeo could be the value, he is much better than his form reads and after three runs from a spell he should be ready to fire.
